From the minute I met Stacey and Murray, I knew their wedding day was going to be fantastic. They are just the cutest of couples – obviously head over heels in love with one another, and gorgeous too! Their big day was to be a classic English countryside affair with a stone church wedding ceremony, Pimms on the lawn in the summer sunshine, and a barn reception. So of course, it had to be afternoon tea for the wedding breakfast! I loved working with Stacey and Murray on their wedding catering, putting together a delectable ‘best of British’ spread that featured both savoury and sweet handmade treats.
Stacey was a super organised bride with the best spreadsheet ever! She chose her menu eighteen months before the big day (and stuck to it!). On the savoury side, were sausage rolls alongside some classic finger sandwiches including Coronation chicken (the groom’s favourite), and ham and pickle. For the sweet tooth, we had melt-in-the-mouth cinnamon doughnuts, carrot cake, and the prettiest macarons, all with a sprinkling of gold leaf and edible flowers. And, of course, there were delicious buttery scones with clotted cream and jam!
The wedding itself took place on the kind of sunny July day that UK brides and grooms dream of! There were some lovely touches, including a seating plan made up of guests’ baby pictures, and silver pails filled with fresh white flowers on the tables. Alongside the afternoon tea wedding catering and Pimms at cocktail hour, other classic British touches included our mismatched vintage tea cups and saucers at each place setting, and Murray Mints as favours!
Here’s some lovely words from Stacey and Murray about their Curated Kitchen experience:
“Just to say thank you so so much for everything you did for us on the wedding day! We have had so many people compliment us on how afternoon tea was such a good idea and how amazing it all was. I honestly am so so happy we found you, you have been such a help throughout the last couple of years and I just can’t thank you enough!”
